Buchtel Pulls Out Overtime Win Against Rival Harding
Buchtel Wins 35-28 In Overtime Thriller
Akron, Ohio – Buchtel High School's football team pulled out a thrilling 35-28 overtime win against rival Warren Harding High School on Friday night.
The game was tied 28-28 at the end of regulation, and Buchtel won the overtime coin toss and elected to receive the ball.
Buchtel quarterback Deonte Jennings led the team on a 10-play, 75-yard drive, capped off by a 1-yard touchdown run by running back Markell Stephens.
Harding's offense was unable to answer, and Buchtel's defense held on to secure the victory.
Jennings finished the game with 225 passing yards and two touchdowns, while Stephens rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns.
Harding quarterback Malik Hall had 180 passing yards and two touchdowns, while running back De'Vontae Rice rushed for 100 yards and a touchdown.
The win improves Buchtel's record to 6-2, while Harding falls to 4-4.
Buchtel will host Firestone next week, while Harding will travel to Massillon.
