CPL 2024: Hasaranga Out; Tahir Comes In As Guyana Decide To Bowl First Against Patriots

Guyana Amazon Warriors made one change to their side, with Tabraiz Shamsi making way for Imran Tahir. St Kitts & Nevis Patriots remained unchanged.

Guyana Amazon Warriors won the toss and elected to bowl first against the St Kitts & Nevis Patriots in the 11th match of the 2024 Caribbean Premier League (CPL) at the Providence Stadium in Guyana. This was the first match of the tournament to be played in Guyana.

Guyana Amazon Warriors made one change to their side, with Tabraiz Shamsi making way for Imran Tahir. St Kitts & Nevis Patriots remained unchanged.

Tahir, the veteran South African leg-spinner, was brought into the side to add experience and quality to the bowling attack. He has been in impressive form in recent months, and his inclusion will be a boost to the Warriors.

The Patriots, meanwhile, have named an unchanged side from the one that beat the Barbados Royals in their opening match of the tournament. They will be looking to continue their good form and pick up another win against the Warriors.

The Guyana Amazon Warriors have a strong batting line-up, with the likes of Brandon King, Shimron Hetmyer, and Nicholas Pooran in their ranks. The St Kitts & Nevis Patriots will need to bowl well to restrict them.

The Patriots have a decent bowling attack, with the likes of Sheldon Cottrell, Dominic Drakes, and Fawad Ahmed in their ranks. However, they will need to be at their best to contain the Warriors' batting line-up.

The match is expected to be a close contest, with both teams evenly matched. The Warriors will be looking to make a winning start to their CPL campaign, while the Patriots will be looking to continue their good form.

The match will be broadcast live on ESPN and Star Sports.
